James R. J. Cochran papers
Financial records of a resident of Cabarrus County, N.C. Contains decorative bill heads from local merchants, including Odell Curtis & Co., Dove & Bost Dealers, Miss Nannie Alexander, Cannons & Fetzer, and D.P. Dayvault. Also includes a letter from J.B. Nelson regarding lynchings in Atlanta, Georgia in 1891.
Irwin Family papers
The Irwin Family Papers is a small manuscript collection, consisting mostly of letters, bills of sale (including bills of sale for enslaved people), real estate deeds and genealogical notes of a family of Charlotte, North Carolina, primarily during the nineteenth century.
Mecklenburg Iron Works drawings
Blueprints of projects constructed by a Charlotte firm, which was established in 1856 by John Wilkes and sold to Carolina Steel Corporation in the 1960s. Includes drawings for residences and commercial buildings, primarily in the Charlotte area.
