AAA Carolinas records
The collection comprises the records of AAA Carolinas, from its inception as the Carolina Motor Club in 1922 through 2009 and includes correspondence, annual reports, consumer publications and promotional materials, internal publications, media clippings, historical photographs, and back issues of the Club's magazine.
John Henry and Evelyn Galloway Alexander papers
The collection consists primarily of personal letters written between John H. Alexander and Evelyn G. Galloway while Alexander served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Also included are correspondence written to both of them by family and friends during the same time period.

Henry Ashworth papers
Correspondence course booklets (1949-50) on textile milling and manufacturing published by International Correspondence Schools of Scranton, Penn. The booklets contain corrected test sheets completed by Henry Ashworth of Ashworth Brothers, Inc., Charlotte, N.C.
Robert L. Barret papers
Barret's published works focus on parenting, issues of grief and loss, and clinical services to the sexual minority community. In addition to his professional writing, Barret has been active in promoting social justice, both in his home community, and in the American Counseling Association. This is a small collection comprised of correspondence and clippings.
William Wallace Beard Civil War letters
Collection consists largely of letters written by William Wallace Beard, a member of the Mississippi 18th Regiment in the Confederate Army. The letters are written during his time as a soldier in the United States Civil War largely from different sites around Virginia. It includes 32 letters (30 of which are from Beard and 2 of which are from Col. A.P. Hill) and one furlough document.
Belk and Everett families papers
The collection consists of photocopies of documents pertaining to two prominent families in Charlotte, NC: the Belks and the Everetts. Most of the collection consists of correspondence with Herschel Hill Everett, his daughter, Ann, and her husband, Henderson Belk.
Jesse Spencer Bell papers
Primarily routine correspondence of a state senator from Mecklenburg County and U.S. Circuit Court judge. Includes letters from presidents Kennedy and Johnson and from members of the federal judiciary. Also includes items relating to his attempt (1957) to establish the North Carolina Stonewall Jackson Memorial Fund.

Letter from Queen Charlotte to her son William (later King William IV) admonishing him for his melancholia while at school in Germany and letter from Queen Charlotte concerning the health of her daughter, Princess Sophia.
Thomas L. Doster papers
Dr. Thomas L. Doster worked as a physician in Union County, North Carolina, and Lancaster County, South Carolina, circa 1866-1904. The collection is comprised primarily of records related to Dr. Doster's work in North and South Carolina, including tax and license receipts, property tax receipts, an account book, and family correspondence.

Erlanger Mills, Inc. records
Records of a textile mill which operated in Lexington, N.C. Contains affirmative action plans, financial analyses, income statements, labor policies and statistics, merchandising plans, operating reports and statistics, and strategic plans. The business was sold to Parkdale Mills of Gastonia, N.C. in 1972.
Folger and Tillet families papers
The collection contains an assortment of papers and photographs from the Folger family and Tillett family. The bulk of the materials concern Charles Walter Tillett, a lawyer and Duncan Tillett, a banker; both of Charlotte in the early twentieth century.

Three drafts of a love letter to Goodwin from David R. Autry, a Confederate soldier stationed at Camp Holmes in Raleigh; two poems, presumably by Goodwin; photographs; and genealogical/biographical information.
Hemby family correspondence
The collection contains letters to Arthur Grady Hemby Jr. and Samuel Robert Hemby during the times that they served in the Navy, 1940- to November 23, 1952.
History of the English Language Class Transcriptions
Transcriptions of some of the 19th century letters and papers in Special Collections Manuscripts at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Atkins Library. Most transcriptions include photocopies of the applicable manuscripts with notations made by transcribers. These transcriptions were part of the course work for Dr. Boyd Davis' 2001 class on the History of the English Language.
Avery Hood papers
Avery Hood was the first professionally trained and licensed social worker in Charlotte, and her career spanned from the 1960s through the 1970s. This collection focuses mainly on her and her career in social work.
Clarence O. Kuester, Sr., papers
Clarence O. Kuester, Sr. was active with the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and a tireless promoter of the city and its business potential. The collection also contains a significant assortment of papers concerning a theatrical production entitled “Shout Freedom,” which was Kuester’s brainchild and was staged just after his death, in the spring of 1948.
James H. Lane papers
The collection contains four items: a letter (and a handwritten copy), dated April 24, 1885; An Extract From General A. P. Hill’s Report of the Battle of Gettysburg; and a handwritten item entitled “Our Confederate Dead / Mecklenburg County, NC. / Roll of Honor,” collected by General James H. Lane.
George Terry Lathrop papers
The George Terry Lathrop papers concern his career in city planning, land use and especially traffic planning. The papers span from 1960 to 2002, though the bulk of the collection spans from about 1974 to 1998.

America E. Hamilton Perry papers
Mostly letters written by a native of Lebanon, Tennessee, while a student (1865-66) at Ogontz Seminary for Young Ladies in Philadelphia and prior to and during her marriage (1869-76) to Charles A. Perry, a businessman of Weston, Missouri. Also includes a biographical sketch of her husband and an obituary and resolution honoring her father, Col. James Hamilton.
