Summary

In this interview, Peter Franz discusses his role as the Campus Landscape Architect for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the various iterations of campus planning that occurred before and after his arrival to the university in 1996. Mr. Franz worked to ensure that new campus construction met the guidelines set forth in the Campus Master Plan. He also participated in the 2000 revision of the Campus Master Plan and discusses the difference between the two. Mr. Franz concludes the interview by describing the exterior renovation of J. Murrey Atkins Library and how the cladding used in the renovation had to be replaced.
