Pat Stith interview (includes transcript)

William F. "Pat" Stith was a 72-year-old man at the time of this interview, which took place at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Center City building in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in Gadsden, Alabama in 1942. He received his BA in Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1966. He was employed as an investigative reporter at the Raleigh News and Observer newspaper. Pat Stith recalls his first investigative journalism report as a newspaper reporter for The Charlotte News. He discusses his investigation of pollution and the piping of waste by industry into Little Sugar Creek and other creeks in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also reminisces about some of his favorite investigations as a reporter, including the Pulitzer Prize-winner article "Boss Hog."
