He was born in Charlotte, North carolina in 1931. He was educated at Johnson C. Smith University, the University of North Carolina Charlotte, and Temple University and was employed as a college professor. Calvin Davis was born in Taylorsville, North Carolina in 1925. He was educated at Second Ward High School, Johnson C. Smith University, and New York University, and was employed as a teacher and a school administrator. Naomi Davis was a 76-year-old woman at the time of interview. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1928. She was educated at Johnson C. Smith University and New York University and was employed as a teacher.
