Biographical / Historical
Dr. Wayne A. Walcott joined the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1970 as a professor in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. He rose through the academic ranks from assistant professor (1970-1988), to department chair (1988-2000), before becoming senior associate provost in 2000. From 2002-2003 Walcott served as Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He retired in 2008.
