Scope and Contents
The Student Clubs and Organizations Records consist of files from the Clubs and Organizations Committee and are made up of a single alphabetical listing of files by organization name. Included are materials such as constitutions, organizational goals, and membership lists, along with scattered budgets and correspondence. Bank statements, chartering forms, and other records containing personally identifiable information (PII) were destroyed per retention schedule GU318.
The intellectual arrangement for this collection reflects the physical one, with the exception of two Gang Green folders, which were received as a separate accession and are filed at the end of the collection.

Administrative History
The records in this collection were collected and/or created as a function of the Clubs and Organizations Committee at UNC Charlotte, later renamed the Organizational Ways and Means Committee. This body grants primary and secondary charters to student groups allowing them to be officially recognized as clubs or organizations on campus and to receive funding. At the time of this finding aid’s creation, the Organizational Ways and Means Committee falls under Student Organizations, part of the Student Activities Office under Student Union, Activities, and Recreation (SUAR) in the Division of Student Affairs.

Processing Information
This collection originally consisted of two accessions, which had been partially processed as two separate collections. These collections were merged into one in April 2017, and the files were reviewed, weeded, given new folders, and inventoried.
