Biographical / Historical

Klopman Mills, a subsidiary of Burlington Industries, was located in Greensboro, North Carolina. A manufacturer of rayon and silk, the company operated a number of other mills in North Carolina in Asheboro, Central Falls, Cordova, Newton, High Point, and Ramseur, as well as a mill in Johnson City, Tennessee. W. Klopman served as president of the company, which was closed or sold by Burlington around 1960. Source: Davison's Textile Blue Book (Ridgewood, N.J.: Davison Pub. Co., 1957).
