Scope and Contents

The collection consists of LGBTQ publications produced in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bulk of the material comprises newsletters. First Tuesday (1989-1992), represents the largest and most comprehensive run in the collection (18 issues). Additional titles include: North Carolina lesbian and gay pride (1993-1994), and Out Charlotte (1995).

The Darryl Logsdon Collection of Charlotte LGBTQ Publications is the physical property of J. Murrey Atkins Library Special Collections, UNC Charlotte. Some material may be copyrighted or restricted. Biographical Note

Darryl Logsdon, a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, was involved in LGBTQ community activism, serving on a range of boards and projects including: Queen City Coordinators (1983-1985); Names Project AIDS Quilt (Charlotte display, 1990); First Tuesday (1990-1993?); Time Out Youth (1993); North Carolina Pride (1994); OutCharlotte; Lesbian & Gay Community Center (2001-2006); Charlotte Lesbian & Gay Fund (2012-2014). As an employee of First Union/Wells Fargo, Logsdon was involved in LGBT employee issues including the addition of sexual orientation to the organization's EEOC policy, adoption of diversity training programs and domestic partner benefits, among other efforts.
