Scope and Contents

The collection contains a large number of architectural drawings of buildings (residential, commercial, educational, professional, industrial and spiritual) that were built in the Charlotte, N.C. metrolina area from 1923 to the early 1970s. Over the years, the firm has had six different corporate names, but the primary architects were Marion R. Marsh, Tebee P. Hawkins, and Charles W. Kibler.

Historical Note

The Hawkins Kibler architectural firm was established by M. R. Marsh in 1922. It has been known by the following names: M. R. Marsh, Architect (1923-1954); Marsh & Hawkins, Architects (1954-1963); Tebee P. Hawkins, Architect (1963-1971); Hawkins Associates, Architects (1971-1981); Hawkins-Kibler Associates, Architects (1981-1988); Hawkins Kibler, Associates, PA (1988-present). Since its founding, the firm has designed a wide variety of buildings constructed in the Charlotte, N.C. metrolina area.
