Scope and Contents

The collection consists of analyses, reports and statistics related to a textile manufacturing business in Lexington, N.C. The files document the operations of the mill, its relations with its employees, and its financial condition. The records, while not complete, provide valuable information regarding the internal policies and operations of the business. Of particular interest is the file on the company’s affirmative action plan, put in place in the late 1960s to enable the company to continue its government contracts.
