Biographical Note
Diana Travis is a local Charlotte activist and a member of the Charlotte LGBTQ community. She graduated from Myers Park High School and New England Conservatory. When Travis lived in Boston during the 1960s, she was president of the first lesbian civil rights organization, a chapter of the Daughters of Bilitis.
Travis has been with her wife, Mary Ann Mueller, for over 30 years.
Since 2000 Travis has owned an environmentally-friendly goose control business, which utilizes border collies. She has received the Don King Community Service Award and been a musician-in-residence at Belmont Abbey College in a woodwind quintet. Travis plays the banjo, writes, plays tennis and fly fishes.
