Biographical / Historical

Political science professor emeritus Nish Jamgotch Jr., taught at UNC Charlotte from 1966-93 and was recipient of his university's North Carolina National Bank Award for Excellence in Teaching. His studies focused on international politics, US Foreign Policy, and Soviet and East Europe affairs. Published works include Soviet-East European Dialogue: International Relations of a New Type? and Thinking the Thinkable: Investment in Human Survival. As a member of the American Committee for East-West Accord, he has developed a multidisciplinary undergraduate course called Investment in Human Survival which stresses the major challenges and threats to humanity and both intellectual and political commitments to elevate the quality of life in our time.
