Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection consists of material generated by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and its affiliated organizations, the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Oratorio Singers of Charlotte (later the Charlotte Symphony Chorus and now the Charlotte Master Chorale). The material includes awards won by the orchestra, documentation of the differing organizations' history, work done by the Board of Directors, such as the merger of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra with the Oratorio Singers of Charlotte, as well as photographs and news clippings. There is also a large amount of audiovisual items that consist of recordings of classical music and concerts, as well as performances by both the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and the Oratorio Singers of Charlotte from the 1960s to the 2000s.
