Historical Note
The images in this collection capture events associated with the Buddy Shuman 100, a NASCAR Grand National East race held on November 11, 1973, at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, North Carolina. Tiny Lund, who appears in numerous images in the collection, finished first, driving a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro. Other drivers finishing in the top ten included Bobby Isaac, Bobby Allison, Buddy Baker, Neil Castles, Ed Negre, and James Hylton.
