Historical Note

The images in this collection document August Jam, an outdoor music festival that took place on Saturday, August 10, 1974, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Headlining acts included the Allman Brothers Band, Foghat, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Black Oak Arkansas. Attended by more than 200,000 people, August Jam was the largest concert ever held in North Carolina.
